This Week at Humble WalkWorship 4:30 Sundays at Acme Scenic Arts 941 West 7th Street St Paul MN 55102
What can we expect during the Season of Epiphany? Epiphany kicks off on January 6. On that day, we celebrate the Wise Men bringing gifts to Jesus. Good work, Wise Men. The significance is that the Wise Men were foreigners. Our focus during this season is that in Jesus, God is revealed as the God of all people--not just a chosen few. We hear stories of Jesus' ministry on earth...calling disciples, healing the sick, partying with outcasts, forgiving sins of people worse than you, eating forbidden foods. All that rebellious, anti-religious stuff that makes some of us uneasy and others of us feel at home. It also made the religious leaders of Jesus' day uneasy. To the point that they kill him (spoiler alert: Easter). Worship during this season focuses on Jesus as the Light of the World, being a light to others, meeting people where they are and celebrating love in the face of fear.
Gather with us on Sundays at 4:30PM. Arise, shine! For your light has come.
Year-End Goal Remember at Beer and Carols when we said we needed to raise $10,000 by year-end to enter 2014 debt-free? Well for cryin' out loud if we didn't do it. Well, we raise all but $1525 and honey, we are calling that a win. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this church go round and out.
