On Monday, we met up at Shamrock's for Theology on Tap. I asked everyone what words/stories/experiences they associate with discipleship. As always, this group doesn't hold back--I asked for the good, bad, ugly and beautiful. Here are a few things that I heard:
It's a defined group, there is an "in/out" to it, heart, hard, following alongside, costly (referencing Dietrich Bonhoeffer), leaders of religion, trust, strength, conviction, loyalty, stumbling, followers in Jesus' struggles, action through faith, whole self/whole life, identity, it's stable and fluid at the same time, words have to be tied to action.
How do you think about discipleship?
