Ennouncements: Saturday, August 27 - Sunday, September 4, 2011

Events:
Sunday, August 28 - Sunday Worship at 4:30pm at Acme
New space for worship. Beginning Sunday, August 21, Humble Walk will meet for worship in our new location: Acme Art Gallery. Hear all about it at worship on Sunday...or read about it here. Bring Your Own Chairs...just until the end of the trial month.

Friday, September 2 - Operation Caffeination
Friday morning is hopping at the bus stop at West 7th and Randolph. Stop by for a cup of coffee or a PJ Murphy's donut. With sprinkles. 7ish to 8ish. (That's AM, friends).

Sunday, September 4 – Sunday Worship at 4:30pm at Acme
Next Sunday, we welcome back our First Sunday Feast. On September 4, worship looks like a potluck feast. Bring something to place on the largest potluck table you have ever laid eyes on. 4:30PM at Acme. Returning to school (elementary, middle, high, college, tech, hard knocks)? Bring your bag/backpack and we will bless it and you.

Announcements:
Our new home for worship on Sundays at 4:30PM is the lovely and amazing Acme Scenic Arts Gallery at 941 West 7th Street St. Paul, MN 55102. Just a block and a half from our last space at the Pilney. We are across the street from Best Pawn. Street parking. Look for the double bronze doors. Justin Rimbo is our artist-in-residence through September. He is good at his job. Come prepared to sing.

This Sunday, we begin a month-long trial period in the space. Come and see and try it on for size. Speaking of size, this one is double the size of the Pilney. So, we have room for all your people. It's Bring A Chair Sunday. Seriously, bring a chair with you. Our space has about a dozen we can use--but we supply the rest of the chairs until after our month-long trial period.

We welcome Justin Rimbo back as our artist-in-residence. Prepare yourself for a liturgy that compels you to sing your heart out. (Which sounds messy. It probably will be.) Also, Justin's family has added another Rimbo to the mix. Her name is Zoe and she's fabulous.

Theology on Tap is returning(!) with guest theologian, Karoline Lewis (Assistant Professor of Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary). Topic: Gospel of John. Conversation+beer+theology+bar food = a great way to spend a Monday night. Shamrock's banquet room. Monday, September 12 at 7PM.

Summer Reading: Track down Life Together (Deitrich Bonhoeffer) and Take This Bread (Sara Miles) from your local library or on ebay. You want to read both, we promise. Our October Theology on Tap will feature discussions from these two books...so get crackin' folks.

Traveling Mercies: It's the season of travel for many. You are in our prayers as you make your way around this good creation. Find us when you get back into town.
