I'm reading Mixed-Up Blessing, a new encounter with being church, by Barbara Glasson. She's a Methodist pastor of a bread church in Liverpool. Here is a tiny, tiny portion of why I love her: "Going on believing that God is just ahead of us, present yet fleeting, is the challenge of faith. Church helps us pretend that we have God where we can contain him, where he can be predicted and managed. I think this is a false reality. God is both bigger and smaller than we can ever imagine and infinitely elusive."
