breaking camp

After our service last night, we made history. We did not have a potluck. The is the first time in the life of HW at the Pilney. Instead, we marched across the street to Hot City Pizza. They were prepared for us--the pizza ready when we walked in the door. We filled the place. It was joyful and loud--a wonderful celebration of Summer Homework. Afterwards, we spilled out into the parking lot. One of our youngsters shared his ball--and somehow managed to involve the entire group in a game of Keep Away. It was a good moment. The other moment I loved was in the five minutes after worship when we broke camp. Everyone had something to do--putting chairs away, cleaning up communion, stacking Rubbermaid bins. Purpose driven, to be sure.
