Busting out of the Pilney. HW official June Newsletter of sorts.

Well, summer has arrived (unofficially--but the garden says otherwise). Get out your planner to mark these dates/events. paint-home Summer Homework: a day of service in our community goes down this Saturday. Meet on the Houge deck at 8:30AM for coffee, rolls, prayer and assignments. We'll feed you lunch--you'll work your tail off--home improvement will happen--relationships will be formed. Thank you, Bridges for Ending Poverty grant.

1880-worship Word and Sacrament: Sunday at 4:30PM (okay, so this one in on-going, but we don't always have Rev. Marc Ostlie-Olson in the pulpit. That's right, guest preacher Sunday! You will not want to miss this one.) Then stick around for our potluck--with a Salute to Mexico theme.

theology-on-tap1Theology on Tap: Monday, June 7 at Skinner's on Randolph Ave. 7PM with a second stab at the book, Baptized We Live. Marc O-O returns (it's a two-fer!) to lead us through the title page. Nachos and books provided.

ice-cream Ice Cream Social on Armstrong: Tuesday, June 15. Come and celebrate the end of school with an ice cream cone. Meet your neighbors, invite a friend. Scoopers needed! 6:30-7:30PM.

fire-juggling Soiree at the Petersons: Wednesday, June 16 from 6:30-8PM. Ever wondered where this community is headed? (Us, too). Ever wondered how we are going to get there? (Us, too). Ever wondered what our budget looks like...on paper? (Us, too.) Ever wondered what the difference is between Synodically Authorized Worshipping Community and a Congregation Under Development? (Us, too.)  Please come and help us figure it out.

ice-cream1 Ice Cream Social on Pleasant Ave: Same great event, four blocks over. Tuesday, June 22 from 6:30-7:30PM.

choir Hymn sing, homebrew and grill out: Old-timey goodness, good-timey fun. Before you flee the city for the 4th of July, gather with us on Wednesday, June 30 to eat, sing. Word. Sacrament. Blessing. Most likely on the Houge deck o' fun. Instruments welcome.

kids-garden Kids' Garden: As we sit here in front of our screens, this little garden is sprouting up on Armstrong Ave. The kids have taken over. The revolution has begun.
