Have you seen this site? The Work of the People? Liturgy means "the work of the people." Which is a succinct way of saying: "worship is not just showing up to absorb or be entertained, it involves participation." I wander over to this site every now and then. Not because we plan to use these video clips in worship (and if you have been to HW, the idea might make you giggle). But because they usually have some interesting things to offer the liturgical world. The plan was to pass along the link to the clip on baptism, but then as I watched it I kept thinking, "Hmmm, where are the women pastors? Where are the infants?" Oh, don't let this stop you. Despite the bias, it will whett your appetite for this Sunday--the baptism of Jesus.Â
But, now what I am more interested in is the clip Relational Tithe. Go on, watch it. And then let's talk about it. We have powerful potential in the realm of giving.
Epiphany is here.
The Magi followed that big, bright star all the way to Jesus. Come a bit early to worship on Sunday and help us create our own big, bright star. We'll begin this project a little after 4PM at the Pilney and could use your help.
Theology on Tap with Bishop Rogness is this coming Monday. The Bish!
